What is included

We drain the old oil, replace the filter, refill with the manufacturer-spec oil, reset your maintenance light, and run a free 30-point check on belts, hoses, fluids, brakes, lights, tires, and battery condition. If we find something off, we tell you. If we do not find anything, we say that too.

Synthetic, blend, or conventional

Most cars built after 2010 require full synthetic. Older vehicles can run a synthetic blend or conventional depending on the spec in your owner's manual. We will tell you what your car needs and why. Synthetic costs more up front but lasts longer between changes, so the cost per mile is similar.

How often

Every 5,000 to 7,500 miles for most modern vehicles on synthetic. Some European cars stretch to 10,000. Cars driven only short city trips like most Bayview commuter vehicles benefit from shorter intervals because the engine never gets hot enough to burn off the moisture and unburned fuel that ends up in the oil.
